Happy Holidays!

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Merry Christmas!  Merry Yule!  Happy Hanukkah!  Happy New Year! I’m now closed for the year. I’ll answer emails if I have time, but otherwise, I’m on break until Jan. 5. (If you’re already on my schedule for the next few weeks, don’t worry. You’re still good to go. )

And now here’s a little holiday cheer from my family. :)

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

I finally had time to sit down and sort through the images and edit a handful of my fave images from the Nutcracker on Ice last week.

Extending Cans for Comments

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

I didn’t get enough comments to reach my minimum donation, so I’m extending it. I’ll continue all the way through Christmas, so keep sending people to comment. :)

The Nutcracker on Ice

Friday, December 12th, 2008

Last night, I went and assisted Tom Geisler photographing the Ice Chalet’s annual Nutcracker on Ice performance. If you’ve never been, you should check it out. Call ahead about tickets though because from what I understand they were pretty close to sold out. Here are just a few. I’ll get some more up after I have time to finish sorting through them.

I’m also trying something different with posting images. This is one of the Magic Blog it Boards from MCP Actions. What do you think? Do you prefer a couple of larger images for the blog previews or the boards like this? While the images are smaller, I’d would be posting more images from each session/event.

Giving My Cans Away!!! Cans for Comments

Monday, December 8th, 2008

I was doing my usual after lunch routine – checking the photography forums and pretending to be productive – and I ran across a post with a fab idea. A bunch of photographers are doing this, and I decided to join in.

Here’s the deal: For every comment posted on this post between now and Sunday night (Dec 14), I’m going to donate a canned food item or other non-perishable food item to the Second Harvest Food Bank of East TN. So pass this link  to all your friends and have them to comment too. (And while you’re at it, feel free to comment on any other posts on my blog. Comments make me happy. :) )

Then go check out the other photographers blogs and comment there too. There are a bunch participating. (If you want to do this on your blog too, please do.) The participating photographers include Chris + Lynn, Ohana, J Castro, Anne Ruthman, Lori Miles, Bebb Studio, Blue Olive, CJ Scott, Erin Gilmore, Amber Hughes, Jamie Delaine, Tracey Heppner, Michael Wachniak, John HeilKristel Wymen, Alana Couch, Shandro Photo, Think Photographics, Jerk With a Camera, Christine Tremoulet, Perspective Eye, In The Moment, Delicious Juice – anyone else? Let me know, and I’ll add your link.

We work hard for the money!

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

Weddings are a lot of work. I usually spend the next day exhausted and sore. But they can be lots of fun too! Especially when I get to work with one of my friends. This is what’s going on while we’re testing our lighting setup at the beginning of the day.
