Laura + Ryan : 10.25.08 : Wedding

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Laura and Ryan were married yesterday in Rutledge. I promised Laura I’d get a few pictures up before they leave on their honeymoon, so here they are. A longer post will come later. This is just a quick grab and post for the couple. I had a hard time choosing just a few, but I ran out of time. Isn’t the groom’s cake awesome?!

Holiday Mini Sessions!

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

holidaysale

Christmas is fast approaching! I know some of you are in the same boat as me – the grandparents and/or great-grandparents expect cards and photos of the little ones this time of the year. Only problem is you don’t have time for a full session, or finances are too tight.

I’m offering holiday mini sessions to hook you up! You’ll get up to one hour of photography in one location of your choosing. (Outfit changes are fine, as long as time permits.) I only have time for a limited number of these sessions, so don’t wait too long to book yours! All sessions must be completed by November 23, and all orders must be placed by 6 PM on Dec 6 to guarantee Christmas delivery.

The mini sessions are $150,  and includes $100 print credit good towards prints or photo cards.

Print prices are:

  • Wallets (8) – $15
  • 4×6           – $10
  • 5×7           – $15
  • 8×10         – $20
  • 11×14       – $35
  • 16×20       – $55
  • larger sizes available, contact me for details

Other times, such as canvases, calendars, albums, and ornaments are available, but cannot be purchased using the print credit. Contact me for details and pricing. Examples will be available for viewing at your session.

And let’s not forget the reason most people get portraits done this time of year – the photo card. I have 25 card options available for mini session clients, and YES, you can use your print credit towards the purchase of these. These 25 represent my favorites and client favorites. Some are from last year, and some are brand new offerings for 2008. (Custom designed cards are available with full sessions.) When you come to your session, I’ll have samples of all the papers available and well as a book with the card choices in it. You can also view them here. The cards are available in increments of 25 cards and are $50 per pack.

Portrait parties can also be arranged. These are super mini sessions! They are only $25 per per family and last approx 20 mins. There is a minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 required. Only prints and cards are available and follow the pricing above. If your print and card totals are $150 or more, you will receive and additional 10% off. $300+ qualifies you for 20% off.

One person will act as the hostess or host and will be in charge of signing up others and collecting orders. The hostess will have her session fee waived and is will receive 20% of total print and card sales in print credit. For example, if the total sales from all orders, pre-discounts, equal $600, the hostess would then receive $120 print credit.

If you are interested in hosting a portrait party, please contact me for more details.

Laura + Ryan : True Love Session

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Laura & Ryan are getting married in less than 2 weeks! For their engagement pictures, they wanted to incorporate the fall colors. I gotta say that this proved harder than I expected. Driving down the road, I’ll see all the gorgeous pockets of colors – amazing reds, yellows, and oranges. All the places it’s safe to take pictures are much less colorful.

We started off at the Fruit and Berry Patch in Halls. Wow, what a difference in the 2 weeks since I’d been there last. Unfortunately most of the shots I had in my head were now not possible, but we still got some great stuff. The blue of the sky was a-ma-zing! After that we headed down to Adair Park in Fountain City, looking for some color.

Location, location, location

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Sometimes deciding where you want to have your session can be even harder than deciding what you want to wear. The best light for taking portraits occurs within 2 hours after sunrise or 2 hours before sunset. If you need to schedule your session for the middle of the day, you’ll want to consider locations with a lot of open shade.

Here’s a list of some of the location possibilities in the area. This is not a complete list by any means, so if you have something else in mind, that’s completely fine. As you can see, there are tons of options, so we should be able to find the right location for your portraits.

Ijam’s Nature Center & Mead’s Quarry
Downtown Knoxville – Market SquareOld City
Downtown Maryville
The area colleges – University of Tennessee, Maryville College, Carson-Newman College, etc.
Knoxville Zoo*
Ripley’s Aquarium*
The Fruit & Berry Patch
Cades Cove
Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge
Ramsey House grounds
Savage Gardens
Knoxville Botantical Gardens
UT Gardens
Knoxville Parks – World’s Fair, Sequoyah Hills, Adair Park, Volunteer Landing, Lakeshore, etc
Knox County Parks – Concord/The Cove, Campbell Station, House Mountain, etc.
TN State Parks – Cove Lake, Norris Dam, Panther Creek, etc.

Some seasonal options:
Fairs
Pumpkins patches & Corn Mazes
Christmas Tree Farms

A few fun options a bit further away:**
Historic Jonesborough
Fort Loudon
Sycamore Shoals
Historic Rugby*

Anna + Jayce : 9.26.08 : Wedding

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Anna and Jayce were married last Friday at Magnolia Manor in Lenoir City. Kristy from Expressive Moments Photography came out to help me. The weather was questionable all day, but fortunately the rain held off just long enough. It rained on me almost my entire drive home. Magnolia Manor is really pretty. The owners were great about keeping things running smoothly. The ceremony was short and sweet – Anna & Jayce wrote their own vows. I’m not sure if you guys are back from your honeymoon yet, but here’s your sneek peak:
